In wake of the Simchat Torah massacre in Israel, and the ongoing mourning and shock felt around our Jewish world, I've begun exploring connections between Sefer Yetzirah and Mussar work. This, in the hope of unpacking some ways in which to help with the work of healing our nation.

Our sense of "displacement" on earth, and form relationship with the divine, is at the root cause of the break in communication we seem to have with the rest of creation. In this class we'll begin looking at ways in which to build back routs of communication.
"Why did Pharao not give in and send B'nei Israel on their way". There are many answers to that question. We'll explore the idea that the plagues were a form of sacrifice, performed by Moshe and Aharon, as a means of releasing Israel from Mitzrayim, and enabling them to "Create" a new beginning for themselves. This is the "Binding of Pharao".

On K'vod Av va Em - the respect and honor to our parents, as a middah which can sometimes be practiced through deepening the work done by our predecessors. Healing doesn't mean the deconstruction of structures, rather, it can be achieved through cleansing and expanding.
