One of the names God applies to Himself in the Old Testament, Ani Hu (אני הוא) means “I Am He”. This shows up in eleven passages of the Old Testament, and nine of those are God speaking about Himself specifically, while revealing something that is eternally true about Himself:
"See now, that I, I Am He. There is no god beside Me…"
"…I, Adonay, first and last, I Am He."
“…and understand that I Am He: in My presence no god was formed, nor will there be after Me.”
“Ever since day was, I Am He, and no other can deliver from My hand. When I act, who can reverse it?”
“I Myself, I Myself Am He who blots out your wrongdoings for my own sake, and will not remember your sins”
וְעַד־זִקְנָה֙ אֲנִ֣י ה֔וּא וְעַד־שֵׂיבָ֖ה אֲנִ֣י אֶסְבֹּ֑ל אֲנִ֤י עָשִׂ֙יתִי֙ וַאֲנִ֣י אֶשָּׂ֔א וַאֲנִ֥י אֶסְבֹּ֖ל וַאֲמַלֵּֽט׃ {ס}
“…even until old age and until gray hairs: I Am He. I will carry you. I have done it. And I will lift you, and I will carry you, and I will rescue you.”
“Listen to me Jacob, chosen Israel: I Am He. I am first, also I am last.”
“I Myself, I Myself Am He who comforts you…”
“So then My people will know My Name—then in that day—that I Am He Who Speaks. Here I am.”
