יח (כז) וַיְשַׁלַּ֥ח מֹשֶׁ֖ה אֶת־חֹתְנ֑וֹ וַיֵּ֥לֶךְ ל֖וֹ אֶל־אַרְצֽוֹ׃ {פ}
וְשַׁלַח משֶׁה יָת חֲמוּהִי וַאֲזַל לֵהּ לְאַרְעֵהּ:
יט (א) בַּחֹ֙דֶשׁ֙ הַשְּׁלִישִׁ֔י לְצֵ֥את בְּנֵי־יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל מֵאֶ֣רֶץ מִצְרָ֑יִם בַּיּ֣וֹם הַזֶּ֔ה בָּ֖אוּ מִדְבַּ֥ר סִינָֽי׃
בְּיַרְחָא תְּלִיתָאָה לְמִפַּק בְּנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל מֵאַרְעָא דְמִצְרָיִם בְּיוֹמָא הָדֵין אֲתוֹ לְמַדְבְּרָא דְסִינָי:
(ב) וַיִּסְע֣וּ מֵרְפִידִ֗ים וַיָּבֹ֙אוּ֙ מִדְבַּ֣ר סִינַ֔י וַֽיַּחֲנ֖וּ בַּמִּדְבָּ֑ר וַיִּֽחַן־שָׁ֥ם יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל נֶ֥גֶד הָהָֽר׃
וּנְטָלוּ מֵרְפִידִים וַאֲתוֹ לְמַדְבְּרָא דְסִינָי וּשְׁרוֹ בְּמַדְבְּרָא וּשְׁרָא תַמָן יִשְׂרָאֵל לָקֳבֵל טוּרָא:
(ג) וּמֹשֶׁ֥ה עָלָ֖ה אֶל־הָאֱלֹהִ֑ים וַיִּקְרָ֨א אֵלָ֤יו יְהֹוָה֙ מִן־הָהָ֣ר לֵאמֹ֔ר כֹּ֤ה תֹאמַר֙ לְבֵ֣ית יַעֲקֹ֔ב וְתַגֵּ֖יד לִבְנֵ֥י יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃
וּמשֶׁה סְלֵק קֳדָם יְיָ וּקְרָא לֵהּ יְיָ מִן טוּרָא לְמֵימַר כִּדְנַן תֵּימַר לְבֵית יַעֲקֹב וּתְחַוִי לִבְנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל:
(ד) אַתֶּ֣ם רְאִיתֶ֔ם אֲשֶׁ֥ר עָשִׂ֖יתִי לְמִצְרָ֑יִם וָאֶשָּׂ֤א אֶתְכֶם֙ עַל־כַּנְפֵ֣י נְשָׁרִ֔ים וָאָבִ֥א אֶתְכֶ֖ם אֵלָֽי׃
אַתּוּן חֲזִתּוּן דִי עֲבָדִית לְמִצְרָיִם וּנְטָלִית (נ"א וְאַטְלִית) יָתְכוֹן כִּדְעַל גַדְפֵי נִשְׁרִין וְקָרֵבִית יָתְכוֹן לְפָלְחָנִי:
(ה) וְעַתָּ֗ה אִם־שָׁמ֤וֹעַ תִּשְׁמְעוּ֙ בְּקֹלִ֔י וּשְׁמַרְתֶּ֖ם אֶת־בְּרִיתִ֑י וִהְיִ֨יתֶם לִ֤י סְגֻלָּה֙ מִכׇּל־הָ֣עַמִּ֔ים כִּי־לִ֖י כׇּל־הָאָֽרֶץ׃
וּכְעַן אִם קַבָּלָא תְקַבְּלוּן לְמֵימְרִי וְתִטְרוּן יָת קְיָמִי וּתְהוֹן קֳדָמַי חַבִּיבִין מִכָּל עַמְמַיָא אֲרֵי דִי לִי כָּל אַרְעָא:
(ו) וְאַתֶּ֧ם תִּהְיוּ־לִ֛י מַמְלֶ֥כֶת כֹּהֲנִ֖ים וְג֣וֹי קָד֑וֹשׁ אֵ֚לֶּה הַדְּבָרִ֔ים אֲשֶׁ֥ר תְּדַבֵּ֖ר אֶל־בְּנֵ֥י יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃
וְאַתּוּן תְּהוֹן קֳדָמַי מַלְכִין כָּהֲנִין וְעַם קַדִישׁ אִלֵין פִּתְגָמַיָא דִי תְמַלֵל עִם בְּנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל:
(ז) וַיָּבֹ֣א מֹשֶׁ֔ה וַיִּקְרָ֖א לְזִקְנֵ֣י הָעָ֑ם וַיָּ֣שֶׂם לִפְנֵיהֶ֗ם אֵ֚ת כׇּל־הַדְּבָרִ֣ים הָאֵ֔לֶּה אֲשֶׁ֥ר צִוָּ֖הוּ יְהֹוָֽה׃
וַאֲתָא משֶׁה וּקְרָא לְסָבֵי עַמָא וְסַדַר קֳדָמֵיהוֹן יָת כָּל פִּתְגָמַיָא הָאִלֵין דְּפַקְדֵיהּ יְיָ:
(ח) וַיַּעֲנ֨וּ כׇל־הָעָ֤ם יַחְדָּו֙ וַיֹּ֣אמְר֔וּ כֹּ֛ל אֲשֶׁר־דִּבֶּ֥ר יְהֹוָ֖ה נַעֲשֶׂ֑ה וַיָּ֧שֶׁב מֹשֶׁ֛ה אֶת־דִּבְרֵ֥י הָעָ֖ם אֶל־יְהֹוָֽה׃
וַאֲתִיבוּ כָל עַמָא כַּחֲדָא וַאֲמָרוּ כֹּל דִי מַלִיל יְיָ נַעְבֵּד וַאֲתֵיב משֶׁה יָת פִּתְגָמֵי עַמָא קֳדָם יְיָ:
(ט) וַיֹּ֨אמֶר יְהֹוָ֜ה אֶל־מֹשֶׁ֗ה הִנֵּ֨ה אָנֹכִ֜י בָּ֣א אֵלֶ֘יךָ֮ בְּעַ֣ב הֶֽעָנָן֒ בַּעֲב֞וּר יִשְׁמַ֤ע הָעָם֙ בְּדַבְּרִ֣י עִמָּ֔ךְ וְגַם־בְּךָ֖ יַאֲמִ֣ינוּ לְעוֹלָ֑ם וַיַּגֵּ֥ד מֹשֶׁ֛ה אֶת־דִּבְרֵ֥י הָעָ֖ם אֶל־יְהֹוָֽה׃
וַאֲמַר יְיָ לְמשֶׁה הָא אֲנָא מִתְגְלִי לָךְ בְּעֵיבָא דַעֲנָנָא בְּדִיל דְיִשְׁמַע עַמָא בְּמַלָלוּתִי עִמָךְ וְאַף בָּךְ יְהֵימְנוּן לְעָלָם וְחַוִי משֶׁה יָת פִּתְגָמֵי עַמָא קֳדָם יְיָ:
(י) וַיֹּ֨אמֶר יְהֹוָ֤ה אֶל־מֹשֶׁה֙ לֵ֣ךְ אֶל־הָעָ֔ם וְקִדַּשְׁתָּ֥ם הַיּ֖וֹם וּמָחָ֑ר וְכִבְּס֖וּ שִׂמְלֹתָֽם׃
וַאֲמַר יְיָ לְמשֶׁה אִזֵיל לְוָת עַמָא וּתְזַמְנִנוּן יוֹמָא דֵין וּמְחָר וִיחַוְרוּן לְבוּשֵׁיהוֹן:
(יא) וְהָי֥וּ נְכֹנִ֖ים לַיּ֣וֹם הַשְּׁלִישִׁ֑י כִּ֣י ׀ בַּיּ֣וֹם הַשְּׁלִשִׁ֗י יֵרֵ֧ד יְהֹוָ֛ה לְעֵינֵ֥י כׇל־הָעָ֖ם עַל־הַ֥ר סִינָֽי׃
וִיהוֹן זְמִינִין לְיוֹמָא תְלִיתָאָה אֲרֵי בְּיוֹמָא תְלִיתָאָה יִתְגְלִי יְיָ לְעֵינֵי כָל עַמָא עַל טוּרָא דְסִינָי:
(יב) וְהִגְבַּלְתָּ֤ אֶת־הָעָם֙ סָבִ֣יב לֵאמֹ֔ר הִשָּׁמְר֥וּ לָכֶ֛ם עֲל֥וֹת בָּהָ֖ר וּנְגֹ֣עַ בְּקָצֵ֑הוּ כׇּל־הַנֹּגֵ֥עַ בָּהָ֖ר מ֥וֹת יוּמָֽת׃
וּתְתַחֵם יָת עַמָא סְחוֹר סְחוֹר לְמֵימַר אִסְתַּמָרוּ לְכוֹן מִלְמִסַק בְּטוּרָא וּלְמִקְרַב בְּסוֹפֵהּ כָּל דְיִקְרַב בְּטוּרָא אִתְקְטָלָא יִתְקְטֵל:
(יג) לֹא־תִגַּ֨ע בּ֜וֹ יָ֗ד כִּֽי־סָק֤וֹל יִסָּקֵל֙ אוֹ־יָרֹ֣ה יִיָּרֶ֔ה אִם־בְּהֵמָ֥ה אִם־אִ֖ישׁ לֹ֣א יִחְיֶ֑ה בִּמְשֹׁךְ֙ הַיֹּבֵ֔ל הֵ֖מָּה יַעֲל֥וּ בָהָֽר׃
לָא תִקְרַב בֵּהּ יְדָא אֲרֵי אִתְרְגָמָא יִתְרְגֵם אוֹ אִשְׁתְּדָאָה יִשְׁתְּדִי אִם בְּעִירָא אִם אֱנָשָׁא לָא יִתְקַיָם בְּמֵיגַד שׁוֹפָרָא אִנוּן מְרָשָׁן לְמִסַק בְּטוּרָא:
(יד) וַיֵּ֧רֶד מֹשֶׁ֛ה מִן־הָהָ֖ר אֶל־הָעָ֑ם וַיְקַדֵּשׁ֙ אֶת־הָעָ֔ם וַֽיְכַבְּס֖וּ שִׂמְלֹתָֽם׃
וּנְחַת משֶׁה מִן טוּרָא לְוָת עַמָא וְזַמִין יָת עַמָא וְחַוָרוּ לְבוּשֵׁיהוֹן:
(טו) וַיֹּ֙אמֶר֙ אֶל־הָעָ֔ם הֱי֥וּ נְכֹנִ֖ים לִשְׁלֹ֣שֶׁת יָמִ֑ים אַֽל־תִּגְּשׁ֖וּ אֶל־אִשָּֽׁה׃
וַאֲמַר לְעַמָא הֱווֹ זְמִינִין לִתְלָתָא יוֹמִין לָא תִקְרְבוּן לְצַד אִתְּתָא:
(טז) וַיְהִי֩ בַיּ֨וֹם הַשְּׁלִישִׁ֜י בִּֽהְיֹ֣ת הַבֹּ֗קֶר וַיְהִי֩ קֹלֹ֨ת וּבְרָקִ֜ים וְעָנָ֤ן כָּבֵד֙ עַל־הָהָ֔ר וְקֹ֥ל שֹׁפָ֖ר חָזָ֣ק מְאֹ֑ד וַיֶּחֱרַ֥ד כׇּל־הָעָ֖ם אֲשֶׁ֥ר בַּֽמַּחֲנֶֽה׃
וַהֲוָה בְיוֹמָא תְלִיתָאָה בְּמֶהֱוֵי צַפְרָא וַהֲוָה קָלִין וּבַרְקִין וַעֲנָנָא תַקִיף עַל טוּרָא וְקַל שׁוֹפָרָא תַּקִיף לַחֲדָא וְזָע כָּל עַמָא דִי בְמַשְׁרִיתָא:
(יז) וַיּוֹצֵ֨א מֹשֶׁ֧ה אֶת־הָעָ֛ם לִקְרַ֥את הָֽאֱלֹהִ֖ים מִן־הַֽמַּחֲנֶ֑ה וַיִּֽתְיַצְּב֖וּ בְּתַחְתִּ֥ית הָהָֽר׃
וְאַפֵּיק משֶׁה יָת עַמָא לְקַדָמוּת מֵימְרָא דַיְיָ מִן מַשְׁרִיתָא וְאִתְעַתָּדוּ בְּשִׁפּוֹלֵי טוּרָא:
(יח) וְהַ֤ר סִינַי֙ עָשַׁ֣ן כֻּלּ֔וֹ מִ֠פְּנֵ֠י אֲשֶׁ֨ר יָרַ֥ד עָלָ֛יו יְהֹוָ֖ה בָּאֵ֑שׁ וַיַּ֤עַל עֲשָׁנוֹ֙ כְּעֶ֣שֶׁן הַכִּבְשָׁ֔ן וַיֶּחֱרַ֥ד כׇּל־הָהָ֖ר מְאֹֽד׃
וְטוּרָא דְסִינַי תָּנַן כֻּלֵהּ מִן קֳדָם דְאִתְגְלִי עֲלוֹהִי יְיָ בְּאֶשָׁתָא וּסְלִיק תְּנָנֵהּ כִּתְנָנָא דְאַתּוּנָא וְזָע כָּל טוּרָא לַחֲדָא:
(יט) וַיְהִי֙ ק֣וֹל הַשֹּׁפָ֔ר הוֹלֵ֖ךְ וְחָזֵ֣ק מְאֹ֑ד מֹשֶׁ֣ה יְדַבֵּ֔ר וְהָאֱלֹהִ֖ים יַעֲנֶ֥נּוּ בְקֽוֹל׃
וַהֲוָה קַל שׁוֹפָרָא אָזֵל וְתָקֵף לַחֲדָא משֶׁה מְמַלֵל וּמִן קֳדָם יְיָ מִתְעֲנֵי לֵהּ בְקָל:
(כ) וַיֵּ֧רֶד יְהֹוָ֛ה עַל־הַ֥ר סִינַ֖י אֶל־רֹ֣אשׁ הָהָ֑ר וַיִּקְרָ֨א יְהֹוָ֧ה לְמֹשֶׁ֛ה אֶל־רֹ֥אשׁ הָהָ֖ר וַיַּ֥עַל מֹשֶֽׁה׃
וְאִתְגְלִי יְיָ עַל טוּרָא דְסִינַי לְרֵישׁ טוּרָא וּקְרָא יְיָ לְמשֶׁה לְרֵישׁ טוּרָא וּסְלִיק משֶׁה:
(כא) וַיֹּ֤אמֶר יְהֹוָה֙ אֶל־מֹשֶׁ֔ה רֵ֖ד הָעֵ֣ד בָּעָ֑ם פֶּן־יֶהֶרְס֤וּ אֶל־יְהֹוָה֙ לִרְא֔וֹת וְנָפַ֥ל מִמֶּ֖נּוּ רָֽב׃
וַאֲמַר יְיָ לְמשֶׁה חוּת אַסְהֵיד בְּעַמָא דִילְמָא יְפַגְרוּן קֳדָם יְיָ לְמֶחֱזֵי וְיִפֵּל מִנְהוֹן סַגִי:
(כב) וְגַ֧ם הַכֹּהֲנִ֛ים הַנִּגָּשִׁ֥ים אֶל־יְהֹוָ֖ה יִתְקַדָּ֑שׁוּ פֶּן־יִפְרֹ֥ץ בָּהֶ֖ם יְהֹוָֽה׃
וְאַף כָּהֲנַיָא דִקְרִיבִין לְשַׁמָשָׁא קֳדָם יְיָ יִתְקַדְשׁוּן דִילְמָא יִקְטוֹל בְּהוֹן יְיָ:
(כג) וַיֹּ֤אמֶר מֹשֶׁה֙ אֶל־יְהֹוָ֔ה לֹא־יוּכַ֣ל הָעָ֔ם לַעֲלֹ֖ת אֶל־הַ֣ר סִינָ֑י כִּֽי־אַתָּ֞ה הַעֵדֹ֤תָה בָּ֙נוּ֙ לֵאמֹ֔ר הַגְבֵּ֥ל אֶת־הָהָ֖ר וְקִדַּשְׁתּֽוֹ׃
וַאֲמַר משֶׁה קֳדָם יְיָ לָא יִכּוֹל עַמָא לְמִסַק לְטוּרָא דְסִינַי אֲרֵי אַתְּ אַסְהֵדְתָּ בָּנָא לְמֵימַר תַּחִים יָת טוּרָא וְקַדֵשְׁהִי:
(כד) וַיֹּ֨אמֶר אֵלָ֤יו יְהֹוָה֙ לֶךְ־רֵ֔ד וְעָלִ֥יתָ אַתָּ֖ה וְאַהֲרֹ֣ן עִמָּ֑ךְ וְהַכֹּהֲנִ֣ים וְהָעָ֗ם אַל־יֶֽהֶרְס֛וּ לַעֲלֹ֥ת אֶל־יְהֹוָ֖ה פֶּן־יִפְרׇץ־בָּֽם׃
וַאֲמַר לֵהּ יְיָ אִזֵיל חוּת וְתִסַק אַתְּ וְאַהֲרֹן עִמָךְ וְכָהֲנַיָא וְעַמָא לָא יְפַגְרוּן לְמִסַק לִקֳדָם יְיָ דִילְמָא יִקְטוֹל בְּהוֹן:
(כה) וַיֵּ֥רֶד מֹשֶׁ֖ה אֶל־הָעָ֑ם וַיֹּ֖אמֶר אֲלֵהֶֽם׃ {ס}
וּנְחַת משֶׁה לְעַמָא וַאֲמַר לְהוֹן:
18 (27) And Moshe let his father in law depart; and he went his way to his own land.
19 (1) In the third month, after the children of Yisra᾽el were gone out of the land of Miżrayim, the same day they came into the wilderness of Sinay.
(2) For they were departed from Refidim, and were come to the desert of Sinay, and had pitched in the wilderness; and there Yisra᾽el camped before the mountain.
(3) And Moshe went up to God, and the Lord called to him out of the mountain, saying, Thus shalt thou say to the house of Ya῾aqov, and tell the children of Yisra᾽el;
(4) You have seen what I did to Miżrayim, and how I bore you on eagles’ wings, and brought you to myself.
(5) Now therefore, if you will obey my voice indeed, and keep my covenant, then you shall be my own treasure from among all peoples: for all the earth is mine:
(6) and you shall be to me a kingdom of priests, and a holy nation. These are the words which thou shalt speak to the children of Yisra᾽el.
(7) And Moshe came and called for the elders of the people, and laid before them all these words which the Lord had commanded him,
(8) and all the people answered together, and said, All that the Lord has spoken we will do. And Moshe reported the words of the people to the Lord.
(9) And the Lord said to Moshe, Lo, I come to thee in a thick cloud, that the people may hear when I speak with thee, and believe thee for ever. And Moshe told the words of the people to the Lord.
(10) And the Lord said to Moshe, Go to the people, and sanctify them today and tomorrow, and let them wash their clothes,
(11) and be ready by the third day: for on the third day the Lord will come down in the sight of all the people upon mount Sinay.
(12) And thou shalt set bounds to the people round about, saying, Take heed to yourselves, that you go not up into the mountain, or touch the border of it: whoever touches the mountain shall be surely put to death:
(13) no hand shall touch him, but he shall surely be stoned, or shot through; whether it be beast or man, it shall not live: when the horn sounds long, they shall come up to the mountain.
(14) And Moshe went down from the mountain to the people, and sanctified the people; and they washed their clothes.
(15) And he said to the people, Be ready by the third day: come not near a woman.
(16) And it came to pass on the third day in the morning, that there were thunders and lightnings, and a thick cloud upon the mountain, and the sound of a shofar exceeding loud; so that all the people in the camp trembled.
(17) And Moshe brought the people out of the camp to meet with God; and they stood at the foot of the mountain.
(18) And mount Sinay smoked in every part, because the Lord descended upon it in fire: and the smoke of it ascended like the smoke of a furnace, and the whole mountain quaked greatly.
(19) And then the voice of the shofar sounded louder and louder; Moshe speaks, and God answers him by a voice.
(20) And the Lord came down upon mount Sinay, on the top of the mountain: and the Lord called Moshe up to the top of the mount; and Moshe went up.
(21) And the Lord said to Moshe, Go down, charge the people, lest they break through to the Lord to gaze, and many of them perish.
(22) And let the priests also, who come near to the Lord, sanctify themselves, lest the Lord break forth upon them.
(23) And Moshe said to the Lord, The people cannot come up to mount Sinay: for thou didst charge us, saying, Set bounds about the mountain, and sanctify it.
(24) And the Lord said to him. Go, get thee down, and thou shalt come up, thou, and Aharon with thee: but let not the priests and the people break through to come up to the Lord, lest he break forth upon them.
(25) So Moshe went down to the people, and spoke to them.
