בעומדו להתפלל לפני השי"ת
ככה יתנהג, ר"ל שיהיה כל כוונת תפלתו להשפיע בשכינת עוזו.
וז"ש רז"ל: אין עומדין להתפלל אלא מתוך כובד ראש,
היינו כובד של רישא דכל רישין.
ואף שמבקש בקשת צרכי עצמו,
יהיה כוונתו שלא יחסר הדבר לעילא ח"ו, כי הנשמה היא חלק אלוה ממעל, והיא אבר מאיברי השכינה,
וזהו עיקר הבקשה
שימולא ויושפע לעילא.
When one arises to pray
before the blessed One,
this is how he should act:
the sole intention of his prayer should be
to bring blessing to God’s shekhinah.
This is the meaning of the Sages’ statement: “pray only with a serious demeanor" — be mindful of the Beginning of all beginnings. Even though he asks for something he needs, the intention should be that whatever
it is not be lacking above.
His soul is a part of God,
and it is one of the limbs of the shekhinah. The goal of your prayer is
that the lack be fulfilled on high.
