The Jordan

And Rav Yehuda says
that
Rav says: The Jordan issues forth from the cave of Pamyas. That is also taught
in a
baraita
:
The Jordan issues forth from the cave of Pamyas, and travels in the Sea of Sivkhi,
i.e., the Hula Lake,
and in the Sea of Tiberias,
the Sea of Galilee,
and rolls down to the Great Sea, and rolls down until it reaches the mouth of the leviathan. As it is stated: “He is confident, though the Jordan rush forth to his mouth”
(Job 40:23).
Rava bar Ulla strongly objects to this
explanation of the verse…
Bava Batra 74b:11
The Gemara suggests:
Let us say
that the question of whether or not the Jordan River is part of Eretz Yisrael is
the subject of
a dispute between
tanna’im
,
as it is taught in a
baraita
: The verse states: “Speak to the children of Israel, and say to them:
When you pass over the Jordan into the land of Canaan”
(Numbers 35:10). The term
“into the land”
indicates that
the land of Canaan
is considered part of Eretz Yisrael,
but the Jordan
River itself
is not
considered part of
the land of Canaan…
Bekhorot 55a:13-15
On the sixth day He brought forth from the earth a beast (Behemoth) which lies stretched out on a thousand hills and every day has its pasture on a thousand hills, and overnight (the verdure) grows of its own account as though he had not touched it, as it is said, "Surely the mountains bring him forth food" (Job 40:20). The waters of the Jordan give him water to drink, for the waters of the Jordan surround all the earth, half thereof (flow) above the earth and the other half below the earth, as it is said, "He is confident, though Jordan swell even to his mouth" (Job 40:23)…
Pirkei DeRabbi Eliezer 11:4
The waters of the Karmiyon and the waters of Pugah are unfit, because they are marsh waters. The waters of the Jordan and the waters of the Yarmuk are unfit, because they are mixed waters. And the following are mixed waters: a fit kind and an unfit kind that were mixed together. If two kinds that are fit were mixed together both remain fit: Rabbi Judah says that they are unfit.
Mishnah Parah 8:10
Rabbi Yitzḥak says:
This was the incident involving Gehazi:
At that moment, Elisha was sitting and teaching
the
halakhot
of the
eight
impure
creeping animals.
Now
Naaman, the general of the army of Aram, was a leper. A certain young Jewish woman who had been taken captive from Eretz Yisrael said to him: If you go to Elisha, he will heal you. When
Naaman
came
to him, Elisha
said to him: Go immerse in the Jordan.
Naaman
said to him: Are you mocking me
by suggesting that this will cure me?
