No one is pained over your destruction
—No one is troubled over your destruction, for everyone rejoices. כֵּהָה is an expression of a darkened thing.
Rashi on Nahum 3:19:1
THE PLAGUE BE DIM. Many of the wise men say that the word
kehah
(dim) means dark. They offer proof from
vatikhhena
(were dim) in
and his eyes were dim
(Gen. 27:1). They say that the phrase
kehot levanot
(dull white) (v. 39) is similar to
le-vanah adamdamet
(reddish-white) (v. 19) in that it contains both colors. However, I believe that the word
kehah
(dim) is the reverse of
pasah
(spread). It is related to the word
va-tikhhena
(were dim) in
and his eyes were dim
(Gen. 27:1)…
Ibn Ezra on Leviticus 13:6:2
