of the school of Rabbi Eliezer ben Ya’akov taught
the following

:
Wherever it states
netzaḥ
,
Selah,
or
va’ed
, the matter
will never cease.
Netzaḥ

] angry”
(Isaiah 57:16), which demonstrates that
netzaḥ
bears a similar meaning to forever.
