About This Text
Author: Yeshayahu Leibowitz
In 1976, Yeshayahu Leibowitz was invited to give a regular radio discourse on the weekly Torah portion. For the next seven years, until April, 1982, he shared biblical interpretations rooted in his popular but often controversial philosophical views, as well as occasional discussions about Jewish holidays. These discourses were organized for publication after his death, with the Torah content compiled into Sheva Shanim shel Sichot al Parashat HaShavua (“Seven Years of Discourses on the Weekly Torah Reading”), along with teachings from a later series on the Torah commentary Meshekh Chokhmah.
